Trench Decay: Jaeger Boss Guide

Last updated 2026-10-10Unofficial player article

Handle Jaeger's focused target, twin guns, destructible charge, and close attacks, then use headshots and reload windows in The Ossuary.

Fight The Jaeger in Trench Decay's Ossuary by respecting its charge lane and close-range attacks, aiming at the head, and using reload windows. The boss focuses one player until that player is downed, so the targeted teammate's movement matters to the whole squad.

This related gameplay video provides context for the campaign and equipment decisions below.

Recognize the target before choosing your position

The Jaeger concentrates on one player until that player goes down. If it is following you, move with space for its charge and avoid leading the attack straight through teammates. If it is following somebody else, give that player room rather than crowding the same lane.

I would keep the group spread enough to understand who is under pressure. A boss fight becomes harder to manage when everyone rushes to the same close position and the targeted player has nowhere useful to move.

Use the head and reload window

The fight advice favors aiming at the head and using the boss's reload windows. Take the opportunity when it is available, but do not let an attractive shot keep you inside the charge lane or next to its melee attacks.

A controlled shot that leaves you ready to move is a better plan than emptying your weapon while standing in danger. The goal is to keep damage and survival working together rather than treating them as separate phases you can ignore alternately.

Expect the charge to change the surroundings

The Jaeger uses twin guns, a charge that breaks walls and pillars, and close-range swipes or slams. A wall is therefore not a permanent answer to the boss simply because it blocks your first line of sight.

Reconsider the space after a charge. Stay aware of where the next movement lane is and where the squad can continue firing. Keep the Iron Maiden mask route separate from the boss fight: the mask and its challenge reward have their own requirements.
