Trench Decay: Cosmetics and Inventory Menus
Recognize cosmetic categories, find Warbond pieces in Inventory, and keep appearance goals separate from special challenge-item behavior.
Trench Decay cosmetics include helmets, gas masks, uniforms, armor, bandoliers, capelets, and poses. If you bought a Warbond cosmetic and cannot find it in the Cosmetics Menu, look in Inventory: those bundle items use a different menu location.
This related gameplay video provides context for the campaign and equipment decisions below.
Find the right category for the item
The category names help you distinguish a helmet from a gas mask or uniform before choosing the character look you want. Armor, bandoliers, capelets, and poses add other equipment or appearance categories. Do not assume that a name appearing in one group belongs in every menu.
I would begin with the item you actually want to change, then look through that category. Buying several unrelated pieces first makes it harder to tell which part of the character you intended to replace.
| Group | Where the distinction helps |
|---|---|
| Helmet, mask, uniform | Identify the part of the character you want to change. |
| Armor, bandolier, capelet, pose | Keep the actual item category in the purchase plan. |
| Warbond cosmetic | Look in Inventory after the bundle purchase. |
| Challenge item | Use the item-specific gameplay description. |
Check Inventory for Warbond items
Warbond cosmetics appear in Inventory rather than the Cosmetics Menu. That is a useful first answer when a delivered bundle item seems missing. Return to the menu associated with its acquisition instead of buying the same set again.
Keep the bundle and item names together when reviewing what you own. A weapon and a mask from the same set still have different jobs. The menu location helps find the item; it does not mean every piece is equipped or used in the same way.
Do not call every cosmetic purely visual
The category system does not prove that every cosmetic is only an appearance change. Challenge equipment such as special masks needs its own description. Judge the item's actual role rather than applying a universal no-gameplay-effect claim to the whole collection.
For an ordinary appearance goal, choose a set you like and keep its cost behind your main equipment reserve. A character look is a valid purchase goal without needing to pretend it is the next combat upgrade.
